Muscat is usually remembered in warmer tones.
Sandstone. Terracotta. Date palms. Frankincense. The pale gold of the mountains at dusk.
But look again, and another version of the city begins to appear.
Blue.
It is there in the sea, of course, but also in mosque tiles, shaded courtyards, glass, ceramic details, contemporary interiors, Oman Air, and the soft blue-grey haze that settles over the mountains.
Not the saturated blue of a Mediterranean postcard.
Something quieter.
Cooler.
Almost glacial.
Seen through this palette, Muscat feels different: more restrained, more architectural and somehow even more serene.
This is not an attempt to redefine the city, but to notice another layer of it. A visual edit shaped by water, light, design and the unexpected shades of blue that quietly run through Oman’s capital.
